Penguins trade Ben Lovejoy to Anaheim Ducks

Wednesday night the Pittsburgh Penguins made a trade with the Anaheim Ducks. The Penguins sent the Ducks defenseman Ben Lovejoy for a fifth-round draft pick in 2014.

In three games this season, Lovejoy had no points and was a -2. The twenty-eight year old from Dartmouth will join up with the Ducks in Dallas on Thursday for the Ducks next game against the Stars on Friday.

Lovejoy has not played a game since January 25 against the Winnipeg Jets, and could see ice time with the Ducks due to the injury to Cam Fowler. Fowler was injured February 2 against the Los Angeles Kings, and has been out with an upper body injury since.

The Penguins have also called up defenseman Dylan Reese to take Lovejoy’s spot on the roster. In thirty-nine games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL, Reese has fifteen points (three goals, twelve assists) and is a +1.
