Penguins pluck Taylor Pyatt off waivers from Rangers

The Pittsburgh Penguins made a move to sure up their bottom-six forwards on Thursday when they claimed Taylor Pyatt off waivers from the New York Rangers.

The thirty-two year-old Pyatt has spent the last two seasons with the Rangers, registering one point in twenty-two games this season. Taylor Pyatt is in his thirteenth season in the NHL, spending time with the New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks, and Phoenix Coyotes in additional to the Rangers. Pyatt saw career numbers during his time with the Canucks, scoring ninety-three points in three seasons.

The Penguins’ next game is against Pyatt’s now former team, the New York Rangers, so it will be interesting to see if he gets any ice time given the lack of practice time he has with Pittsburgh.
