Penguins continue with roster moves, call up Beau Bennett

Following Wednesday night victory over the Ottawa Senators, the Pittsburgh Penguins made a call to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and made the choice to bring up Beau Bennett.

In thirty-five games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Bennett has seven goals and eighteen assists. The twenty-one year old right wing was Pittsburgh’s first round choice in the 2010 NHL draft, and attended training camp with the club this season. Before turning pro, Bennett spent two seasons with the University of Denver Pioneers, having scored thirty-eight points in forty-seven games.

It appears that Bennett will wear number nineteen when he makes his NHL debut Friday night in Winnipeg, and could be the next person in line to play on the second line with Evgeni Malkin and James Neal. However, that is yet to be decided.
