The thermometer read a meager 9 degrees, as hundreds of determined souls braved the Vermont winter and made their plunge into Lake Champlain.
A large audience dressed for a day on the slopes, waited for their friend or family member with cameras and recorders in tow.
Some of the Penguins dressed in colorful, animated outfits, while others wore surprisingly little. All the Penguins were sponsored to plunge, and the proceeds benefited the Special Olympics.
If dressed appropriately, it was a delightful event for the whole family.
