According to the New York Post on Feb. 1, Penelope Cruz is pregnant. The site reports that sources close to the actress confirmed that she is expecting her second child.
Cruz and her husband, actor Javier Bardem, already have one child. Leo Encinas Bardem was born in January 2011, following the couple's marriage in July 2010. The couple have been together since 2007. Cruz said that the first child was a great experience because "you feel so much love."
Cruz said becoming a mother transformed her completely.
This new pregnancy means that Penelope and her younger sister, Monica Cruz, can share the experience. Monica recently announced she was expecting her first child through the use of a sperm donor. With the two sisters carrying their new babies at the same time, they can have a shoulder to lean on through the rougher patches of pregnancy.
Penelope Cruz will appear in two movies in 2013, but both have already completed filming. The first is a reunion with the director who made her a star, Pedro Almodovar, in a film called "Los Amantes Pasajeros." The second is a Ridley Scott film called "The Counselor," which also stars Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender.
