Penelope Cruz and her husband, Javier Bardem, are expecting their second child, sources confirmed on Friday, Feb. 1.
According to the New York Post's Page Six, Penelope, 38, is pregnant for the second time, confirming the rumors that swirled after she was spotted with a fuller figure recently. The new baby will join the couple's older son, Leo, who was born on January 2011 in Los Angeles.
Penelope admitted in an earlier interview that her experiences as a first-time mom changed her life dramatically. "From the first second you fee so much love," the actress told Vogue in June 2011.
"It is a revolutionary experience. That's the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second," Penelope went on, "Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face you are transformed forever."
Meanwhile, Penelope's younger sister, Monica, just recently announced she was expecting a baby as well, turning to an anonymous sperm donor to become pregnant.
