Pembroke Pines Charter School teachers are facing layoffs. Unless the popular school receives more funding, Pembroke Pines Charter will have to reduce its number of teachers and staff or even close down. The budget for the entire program is $47.5 million and the program is asking for more money from the Florida Legislature. A meeting on this matter is planned for January 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Pembroke Pines Charter High School at 17189 Sheridan Street, according to an article by Heather Carney in the January 13 Sun Sentinel.
