Nancy Pelosi who claims to be a devout Catholic herself is apparently upset because Catholic Bishops worry that the Obama Administration will go ahead with its plan to force insurance companies to cover birth control, contraception and drugs that could cause abortions, i.e. “The Morning After Pill”, etc.
The Bishops worry that, under such a decision, some religious groups might have to provide the insurance coverage under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) which would be against their moral and religious views.
According to LifeNews.com, Pelosi was quoted as saying that;
“Those who dispute that characterization “may not like the language,’’ she said, “but the truth is what I said. I’m a devout Catholic and I honor my faith and love it, [but they have this conscience thing”].
According to the Washington Post, Pelosi claims that the position of the Catholic Church is akin to having hospitals “say to a woman, ‘I’m sorry you could die’ if you don’t get an abortion.”
In a society where Congress believes that it should be exempt from “Insider Trading” regulations, and are not even considered for punishment regarding Insider Trading; what other kind of comment should we expect from the once glorified Speaker of the House?
With that attitude, and [her lack of conscience], Nancy Pelosi should be ashamed to call herself a Catholic. In fact, the Catholic Bishops should require here to have counseling and/or have her excommunicated from the Catholic Church because of her thoughtless comments, and the fact that she has watered down her Catholic beliefs, to more easily get the current administrations plan in gear.
Sin is sin! Words, deeds, or supporting things that are contrary to God’s plan and His Commandments! There are those in Congress who act and portray themselves as all powerful, and above all laws. In other words, they see themselves as a class of people above everyone else, some may even see themselves as angelic deities.
If she really believes that she is a “devout Catholic”, then she is no different than those in Congress who call themselves “Christian”, but seem to be willing overlook, deny, and ignore the Word of God!
At her appointed time, Nancy Pelosi will sit before the Throne of God, not to be glorified, but to answer questions that she will not like to answer. That is when she will realize that her own conscience was lacking.
