It would seem that her statement below is out of line, and out of touch with reality. Has Pelosi lost it??? This writer has been wondering that for many months now. Pelosi seems to be making more and more gaffs that are totally off the wall. But, are the designed to take the crosshairs of the press off of her and her husband who has received some bad press lately?
Nancy Pelosi who claims to be a devout Catholic herself is apparently upset because Catholic Bishops worry that the Obama Administration will go ahead with its plan to force insurance companies to cover birth control, contraception and drugs that could cause abortions, i.e. “The Morning After Pill”, etc.
According to LifeNews.com, Pelosi was quoted as saying that;
“Those who dispute that characterization “may not like the language,’’ she said, “but the truth is what I said. I’m a devout Catholic and I honor my faith and love it, but they have this conscience thing”.
Catholic Bishops worry that, under such a decision, some religious groups might have to provide the insurance coverage under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) which would be against their moral and religious views.
In a society where Congress believes that it should be exempt (and is) from “Insider Trading” regulations, and are not even considered for punishment regarding Insider Trading; what other kind of comment should we expect from the once glorified Speaker of the House?
With that attitude, and [her lack of conscience], Nancy Pelosi should be ashamed to call herself a Catholic. In fact, the Catholic Bishops should require here to have counseling and/or have her excommunicated from the Catholic Church because of her thoughtless comments, and the fact that she has watered down her Catholic beliefs, to more easily get the current administrations plan in gear.
With the 2012 General Election Cycle just around the corner and much closer than Democrats would like. That statement by Pelosi is bound to have some repercussions for them. Perhaps the Dem’s should purchase a case or two of Duck Tape!
