Pelican Hill offers a taste of Italy during Festa Dell’autunno

The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach is set to hold its fourth-annual Festa Dell’Autunno on October 10-12, 2014. The three-day event celebrates the harvest season with a lavish festival of sights, sounds, tastes and traditions of Italy.

The weekend events, which are ticket-priced per event as well as a resort-stay package, include art shows and demonstrations, pageantry flag displays, musical performances and dancing.

The Festa dell’Autunno resort package features a bungalow stay along Via Capri, two adult tickets to Saturday’s Italian Street Festa, two adult tickets to Sunday’s Under the California Sun Jazz Brunch and a Festa dell’Autunno welcome amenity. The Festa dell’Autunno resort packages begin at $775 per night (plus taxes) for double occupancy.

Kicking off the weekend is the Friday night (October 10, 6-10 p.m.) Guest Chef Wine Dinner at Pelican Hill’s Andrea Ristorante. Massimiliano Mascia from Ristorante San Domenico, one of Italy’s finest Michelin Star restaurants, will prepare a five-course dinner including imported cheeses; antipasto; pasta course of gnocci or truffle ravioli; meat choices of roast turbo, roast squab or roast lamb, plus dessert choices of Italian sponge cake or Florentine cake.

Saturday, October 11 festivities include the Italian Street Festa beginning at noon and running to 5 p.m. with dining experiences from the five regions of Italy. The resort’s bungalow lanes will overflow with live music and visual art exhibits.

Saturday evening features Festa dell’Unitá from 6 to 10 p.m. with dining and dancing under the stars overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The five-course dinner includes Italian deli meats and imported cheese antipasto, arugula salad with saba dressing reduction, basil infused fusilli or crab and prawn cannelloni; baked red snapper, veal osso buso or eggplant involtini, and choice of five desserts.

Sunday is not to be undone with its Under the California Sun Jazz Brunch on October 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests can look over the sparkling Pacific while sipping bottomless Prosecco mimosas and listening to live jazz. Brunch choices include fresh seasonal fruits, berries and cheeses; assorted breads and pastries; an egg and omelet bar; Italian meats and fish selections, including roasted suckling pig, and five dessert choices.
