Peggy Tanous, formerly of The Real Housewives of Orange County, has filmed scenes for a new documentary about postpartum depression, but in order to get the movie made, she needs the financial assistance of fans and supporters.
On the hit Bravo show, on which Tanous starred for a little over one season, Tanous was very open with the fact that she suffered from postpartum depression.
"I've been suffering from postpartum depression for the past three years," Peggy said in a March 4 interview for the film. "I was having really dark days."
At some points, she claims, she "wouldn't want to get out of bed."
Tanous even admitted to being suicidal because of her symptoms and the overwhelming amount of responsibility she felt in her home life.
In an effort to share her story of survival with other moms who may be suffering from postpartum depression, Tanous has created the documentary, as well as an IndieGoGo page to raise money for the film. The page was started on March 3 and will continue on until May 2.
Tanous' goal is to raise $50,000. Currently, the page has raised just over $1,300.
