Police officers in New Mexico are searching for a voyeur who watched two women having sex.

On Wednesday morning, the two young women were having sex in their Santa Fe residence when they were overheard by a peeping Tom, who apparently thought it was ok to enter their home for a ring-side view.

According to the Santa Fe Police Department report, the man entered the apartment of Maya Mascarenas, 23, and Ashley Willis, 19 around 1:30 am Wednesday morning through an unlocked door. Once inside, he made his way to the bedroom where the two women were “engaged in sexual intercourse.”

At some point, the women realized that a stranger was in their room watching them.

“My girlfriend and I were having sex in my bedroom when I look up and notice a man,” Willis wrote in a police statement. “I asked what he was doing, he said he heard us and had just been watching.” Mascarenas noted, “He said he heard us from outside and came inside to watch. We don’t know how long he was there.”

Willis reported to investigators that she pushed the man out of her room and “all the way out of my house, yelling at him to get out.” The unidentified voyeur left without saying another word as Willis said she “slammed the door and locked it behind him.”

According to KOAT, both Willis and Mascarenas described the voyeur as a Hispanic male, about 5’6” tall, and weighing between 175 and 200 pounds. It was also reported the suspect was unshaven, between 35 and 45 years old, with short brown hair and acne scars. He was wearing a black shirt and khaki cargo shorts.

Neither Willis nor Mascarenas knew what direction he went when he left. Willis said they sat crying for approximately 30 minutes before calling police.

“I had never seen this man before and he did not belong,” said Willis. “My initial reaction, I just got up as fast as possible and pushed him out of the room.”
“I think he was definitely intent on joining, and becoming a part of it and placing himself in our position,” said Willis.

Police said that the peeping tom got in through an unlocked door and didn’t take anything. They said they believe he just wanted to watch.

Police also said if he faces charges they’d be voyeurism, criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.
