A man was hit and killed while he was walking across a Marietta road outside of a crosswalk Monday night.
And police said they don’t expect to charge the 56-year-old woman who struck him with her vehicle.
The incident happened at 8:55 p.m. on Cobb Parkway just north of Allgood Road, according to Marietta police.
Investigators said Ms. Diane Sherman was driving a maroon 2001 Mercedes 320 south bound on Cobb Parkway when she struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road outside of a crosswalk, police spokesman Officer Michael Gardner said.
The man was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, Officer Gardner said.
No one else was injured in the incident and no charges are expected to be filed, Officer Gardner said.
Police are withholding the name of the pedestrian until his family his notified.
