Welcome the change of seasons with one of Bucks County’s favorite fall traditions, the Annual Scarecrow Festival at Peddler’s Village in Lahaska, Pennsylvania. There will be over 100 creative scarecrows for you to see as you stroll the beautiful grounds of The Village from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday, September 21 and 22. Pick up a ballot and vote for your favorites, plus there will be plenty of other family-friendly fun to enjoy.
Like any festival at Peddler’s Village, there will be tons of delicious food. From pumpkin ice cream at Pigadilly’s to the pumpkin pie eating contest at 3 p.m. each day, you can taste the flavors of fall all day long. Be sure to visit Town Crier Bakery, where sweets like pumpkin butter cake, scarecrow sugar cookies and apple pie will tempt any dessert lover. If you’re feeling competitive, enter the Pumpkin Fritter Contest at the bakery on Saturday. In a Man Vs. Food type of challenge, Town Crier is inviting adults and women to see who can eat the most of their gigantic pumpkin fritters. The competition will be split in two groups: children ages 8-13 at 1:30 p.m. and adults at 2 p.m. Prizes range from $10 to $75 in Town Crier store credit. Contact the bakery for more information.
As if the food wasn’t enough, there are plenty of other activities going on as well. Check out local musicians including Diablo Sandwich Band, The Overtones and The Big Chill who will be performing throughout the Village. Kids will love the pony rides, pumpkin painting, an interactive show with Lolly & Yoyo, karate demonstrations and more.
If you can’t come out this weekend, you can still cast your vote in the scarcrew competition though September 29. Winners will be announced on October 9, and the scarecrows will remain on display until October 27.
