The Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation home Owners Association will be hosting Pecha Kucha Night on February 20th, which is an evening of presentations from local residents showing their businesses, personal passions, extraordinary hobbies and unique ideas to an audience open to everyone.
The format is based on a popular global program created by two Tokyo architects as a way for members of the community to meet, socialize, network and to show their work to the public.
The program is highly disciplined for the presenters. They must show 20 slides at 20 seconds each, which equals 6 minutes and 40 seconds. The may use still images or video and it can be on any subject.
Shirley Couteau, Director of Recreation of LRPRA is always coming up with new ideas for the community and thought this would be an exciting new program for area residents. So far five presenters have signed up but there is still time to request to be a presenter. Just call Shirley Couteau at 703-491-2154 ext. 114 to sign up.
I happen to be one of the presenters and will talk about all of my new media projects and the value of social marketing.
The event will be held at the Tall Oaks Center at the corner of Hedges Run Drive and Cotton Mill.
