Peavey Electronics expands its licensed instruments partnerships

Major music instrument and professional sound equipment supplier Peavey Electronics returned to Toy Fair this year with an expanded array of licensed instruments and accessories in partnership with iconic brands including Marvel, DC Comics, The Walking Dead and the House of Blues.

General manager, business development Tony Moscal was particularly excited about the “phenomenal response” to Peavey’s new product line featuring graphics from The Walking Dead comic and TV show, including The Walking Dead Predator Guitar.

“People walk by and stop dead in their tracks,” said Moscal, quite appropriately. “It’s the hottest TV series, and even beat the Grammys.”

Also joining Peavey’s comics-related licensed products is DC Comics Super Heroes, with the likes of Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Watchmen, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Green Lantern captured in detailed artwork on guitars, percussion instruments and accessories geared for DC Comics enthusiasts, serious collectors and musicians of all skill levels.

“It almost goes hand-in-hand with our Marvel product,” said Moscal, singling out Peavey’s Spiderman Marvel-licensed instruments. “If a retailer has a Spiderman guitar, he needs a Batman, too. DC extends our whole comics range and doubles our character product offerings.”

Peavey’s hookup with House of Blues is a natural, said Moscal.

“It’s a great rock ‘n’ roll brand, and we’ve been doing audio installs for them forever,” he said, pointing to a House of Blues-illustrated acoustic guitar and envisioning more such branding tie-ins.

Among the other new Peavey products on display at Toy Fair was the BTS 5.35 Bluetooth Speaker, a wireless stereo speaker for connection with mobile phone, PC, notebook or any Bluetooth-enabled stereo device.
