Pearl Jam will release their tenth studio album, "Lightning Bolt," in the US officially at midnight tonight, October, 15th with an exclusive pop up store event at Volcom's store at 446 Broadway in New York City. Artist Don Pendleton, who created the album's artwork, will be at the store painting live, while fans gather to buy the album as well as exclusive merchandise that Pendleton, Pearl Jam, and Volcom have collaborated on specifically for this event.
The band kicked off an extensive US tour last Friday in Pittsburgh, followed by a show in Buffalo the next night. They are in Worchester, Massachussetts tomorrow and Wednesday night before they come to Brooklyn's Barclays Center for their first shows at the new arena this Friday October 18th, and Saturday, October 19th. Included among the exclusive merchandise the band and Pendleton are offering at the Volcom event will be merchandise that will be exclusive to their Brooklyn concerts this weekend.
Pearl Jam and Volcom have teamed up with eachother in the past, offering exclusive vinyl singles and clothing, but never on this scale, with the added bonus that the artist who designed the album package will be there painting to commemorate the event. Pearl Jam's tour continues after Brooklyn with shows through December 6th in their hometown of Seattle, Washington.
