Iconic Seattle grunge band, Pearl Jam, is hitting the circuit again, bringing back those feel-good tunes, riffs and lyrics from the mind and soul of Eddie Vedder. Pearl Jam was formed in 1990, in Seattle. The band's sound is quintessential alternative rock, as the band itself were the catalyst of the alternative rock genre.
Jan. 23, Rolling Stone reports, "Pearl Jam has announced two July shows on their website, with a slate of fall tour dates to come. The rockers will first play in London, Ontario's Budweiser Gardens on July 16th, and will then visit Chicago's Wrigley Field on July 19th."
Rolling Stone rated the upcoming Pearl Jam tour as one of the "Hottest Tours" in 2013. The magazine was first to break the news of a possible tour for the band.
"Rumors have been circulating for months that Pearl Jam will be back on the road in 2013, possibly with fellow grunge-era graduates Soundgarden. All we know for sure at this point is the band is playing three festival dates in Brazil, Argentina and Chile in March and April."
If you were fortunate enough to have seen this band circa 1990's you can atest that the band's live performance is phenomenal. If you haven't seen this band, take the upcoming tour as a great opportunity to see where the foundation of modern/alternative rock started.
Eddie Vedder performed onstage in the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy relief concert. It was a rare opportunity to see him live and a outstanding performance.
