Currently on the Peak Season menu, LongHorn Steakhouse offers a few limited time selections that guests will want to try. These offerings include:
- New Crispy Artichoke Harvest (appetizer) – Hand-battered artichoke hearts, green beans and red bell peppers served with red chili ranch sauce
- New Roasted Golden Beets (side) – Sweet golden spring beets topped with melted goat cheese
- New Grilled Chicken Famers’ Market Bibb Salad – Tender butter lettuce topped with grilled asparagus, shaved radishes, grape tomatoes, hearts of palm and mandarin oranges in a chardonnay vinaigrette
- New Blueberry Lemon Butter Cake – Warm blueberry butter cake filled with a lemon custard, finished with a vanilla cream sauce and topped with fresh blueberries
Recently, my family enjoyed a dinner at LongHorn Steakhouse and dined on Season Peak menu and other new items. With two school aged children, our family tries to encourage the kids to try new flavors at every possibility. The Crispy Artichoke Harvest was a perfect start to the meal. The tempura batter was light and crispy. With the red chili ranch sauce, each bite had a little zing without becoming over bearing. More importantly, my kids learned that they enjoyed artichokes.
Entrees brought a variety of options to the table. Our three entrees were Bourbon Black Pepper Sirloin, Cajun Dusted Shrimp and Coconut Chili Mahi-Mahi. Since steak is a popular item at LongHorn Steakhouse, the peak season Bourbon Black Pepper Sirloin is a great option. Wrapped in bacon, the steak is sweet yet balanced with the spice from the peppers. A good side to pair with this entree is the golden beets with feta. The beets are sweet and very flavorful and the brininess of the goat cheese compliments the beets.
For the bolder palates, the Cajun Dusted Shrimp is a perfect option. The seasoning on the shrimp is smoky and spicy. Topped with citrus butter, the grilled shrimp are tender and juicy. Another option, the Coconut Chili Mahi-Mahi is a blend of sweet and spiced. Grilled fish sits atop a pineaple, ginger rice and topped with crisp sweet potato straws, one bite hits all the flavor profiles.
Since a dinner out isn't complete without dessert, two options pleased our guests. The Peak Season Blueberry Lemon Butter cake is a bright bite to end the meal. The cake is soft and creamy and the lemon flavors are tart citrus. For chocolate lovers, the Chocolate Stampede is large enough for two to share. With six types of chocolate, the chocolate craving will be satisfied.
