PCUSA continues drift for bowing towards the image of Nebuchadnezzar

The Bible articulates to not to be conformed to this world but be transformed into the glory of the image of Christ.

There are many Christian denominations that have made minor adjustments to their doctrines that incorporate some world views on various subjects.

However there are denominations as the Presbyterian Church USA(PCUSA) that are stepping away from the Biblical definition of things as marriage. Adjustments are being made to their primary by laws in order to import a liberal definition of marriage.

A fair stipulation from the Bible can be attributed to this move of changing the definition of marriage; “for they love the praises of men more than the praises of God”. On another subject is the declaration that God needs to be corrected since God is out of step with what humans want.

It would be safe and fair to say that human beings have traveled down this road of rebellion before. Changing your own standards in preparation of bowing down to the image of Nebuchadnezzar when the music plays is the worst type of compromise. For your comfort, the church will pass out ear plugs when the music begins to play.

Not only is the PCUSA receiving flack for its re-positioning on marriage, but another controversial decision on the nation of Israel has Jewish rabbis upset about the PCUSA publishing an unflattering document about the nation of Israel.

Nearly four years ago the PCUSA began ordaining gay ministers into its organization which led to many leaving the PCUSA. Attendance has been dwindling due to ideological differences of those within the association. A stern rebuke was sent from the mainline organization for changing their church constitution so that gay marriage could be participated and blessed as a state of holy matrimony.

It was an extraordinary decision to change the Book of Order regarding marriage so that a floor vote could legitimize gay marriage within PCUSA. There are major doctrines that defines a Christian denomination and the monogamous Christian marriage relationship is substantiated in the Bible and Torah with no deviations to the model of one man and one woman.

The Bible explanation of "straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel" is a splendid example of what is being done in the process to embrace same sex marriage.

The practice of polygamy is a cultural issue in the Bible narrative, however never does God suggest or ordain multiple wives as a model for marriage. It is an impossibility in doctrine to sanction the union of same sex individuals in one area when the laws of Moses and Hebrews of the New Testament declare otherwise.

Jesus said, “I have not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it” strongly verifies that not one dot or tittle of the law would be wiped away until all is fulfilled. Jesus revealed much to the disciples, but Christ also declared He would set everything in order when He returned signifying there would be much disorder taking place.

The Catholic Church has ordained gay ministers without a doubt, however sexuality issues are wiped away in both homosexuality and heterosexuality since priests of the Vatican are sworn to a vow of celibacy. Sexuality issues are rendered moot by this edict. The struggle of crucifying the flesh is left up to the priest and God to sort out.

Jesus said to "pick up your cross and follow Me" which declares all of His followers must submit to His authority by sacrificing a fleshly issue and give up a bad habit or sin.

However the PCUSA does not have such tough standards regarding a vow of celibacy to its ministry. While the Catholic Church of the west still maintains that priests should not be married, the Eastern Orthodox Catholic Church allows its priests to marry, thus technically only the orthodoxy would have issues with sexual expression regardless of sexual orientation.

The PCUSA has much more paramount issues to deal with as more and more PCUSA members are walking away from the more liberalized church that is rejecting its heritage and adjusting its standards to a more politically correct world view.

There can be no reconciliation to the unchanging standards of the Bible and the attempts to redefine marriage. It is too far a chasm to bridge.
