PCHS defeats Bangor Christian to match win total from last season

GUILFORD---The Piscataquis community high school (PCHS) Pirates boys basketball team won three games last season.

The Pirates defeated Bangor Christian 48-42 on Monday evening to pick up their third win in three games this season.

Tristan French scored 20 points including 6 three pointers to lead the Pirates. French played only 20 minutes due to foul trouble.

The Pirates outscored Bangor Christian 21-14 in the second half, despite their sharp shooting junior playing only six minutes.

Bangor Christian held a 28-27 halftime lead.

PCHS went on a 11-2 run in the third quarter, and built the lead up to 11 in the fourth quarter.

Jeremy Bell added 12 points (5-5 FG/2-2 FT) for the Pirates.

Benjamin Morrill chipped in with eight points, five assists, three rebounds,and two steals. Nate Burns recorded four points, five rebounds, four steals, and three assists.

Cody White added four points, five rebounds, two steals, and one assist.

PCHS (3-0) will travel to Central on Friday.

Seth Pearson and Bryon Bouton scored 12 points each for the Patriots.

Bangor Christian (1-2) will host Schenck on Friday.
