Do you enjoy art? Thinking about a career in art and design? The Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) will hold an Open House on Saturday, 16 November from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The school offers degrees in illustration, graphic design, photography and fine art.
A new major will be available beginning in the Fall of 2013. The new major is Digital Media and will focus on interactive entertainment. This new degree will open up careers as an animator (2-D and 3-D), a motion graphics designer, a producer or editor, a production designer or an interface designer.
Bring your portfolio with you and have it reviewed. Meet the faculty, current students and alumni. Tour the newly-expanded building, and see current student artworks. Learn about financial aid, housing options, and the College’s pre-college offerings for high school students who want to prepare fully before applying to any art college.
PCA&D alumni have gone on to produce work for Adidas and Nike and to be exhibiting artists at various locations. One alumnus has gone on to work on Grand Theft Auto IV and other video games. Many have opened their own studios or design companies.
The application fee will be waived if you apply during the Open House. Register online here or call the admission office at 800-689-0379, ext. 1001.
For more information, visit pcad.edu/openhouse. PCA&D is handicapped accessible. The school is located at 204 N Prince Street.
