PC propaganda, homosexuality, Pastoral sensitivity, and our 1st Amendment Right

1) The PC propagandists.

We live in a society where Lady Gaga and her LGBT ideology is trumpeted by popular gay talk show hosts such as Ellen Degeneres. We also live in a society which shackles Christians like Phil Robertson, of the popular A&E reality-show Duck Dynasty, when he speaks of the biblical view of homosexuality.

What's 'good for the goose must be good for the gander.'

As our American society wrestles with its relationship, or lack thereof, with Judaeo-Christianity--and it's inherent morality--dialogue, it would seem, would be the healthy way to an understanding built upon peace and communion, between gay and heterosexual people. But dialogue is not the current course! Political correctness, the ultimate spirit driving America ( some would say over the brink), demands that total acceptance of homosexuality exist in America to the exclusion of Judaeo-Christian reflection, objection, and expression.

Certainly, PC propagandists protect the gay goose while silencing the Judaeo-Christian gander.

2) Homosexuality.

More than likely, your parish pastor ducks (no pun intended--but if it gets a giggle, intended!) when discussions, and debates, about homosexuality occur. This is likely since he has probably undergone seminary training during the liberal invasion of the 'Spirit of Vatican II.' He is also, possibly, a bit metrosexual, and finds heterosexuality equally uncomfortable. But, not to generalize, probably, he rarely speaks of it from the pulpit.

Surprise! Surprise!

The Catholic Church officially teaches that: "Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that 'homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.' They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved." Catechism of the Catholic Church-2357

Sacred Scripture also speaks of the depravity of homosexuality: Genesis 19:1-29; Romans 1:24-27; 1 Cor 6:10; 1 Tim 1:10.

3) Pastoral Sensitivity.

So far, Pope Francis' pontificate has been marked by his Christ-like compassion--in Mercy--toward the wayward, lost, confused, and sinful…to include the homosexual person. Catholic rule #1: The homosexual is first of all a human person--a human person beloved by God the Father, suffered for by God the Son, and summoned to chastity and obedience by God the Holy Spirit. Catholic rule #2: We are all sinners! We should drop our stones, since Jesus asked the perfect among us to cast the first stone. I don't know about you, but my stone just hit the floor! Catholic rule #3: Hate the sin, but love the sinner.

So, like Pope Francis, we must continue to dialogue with, to pray for, and to express solidarity in both sinful imperfection and our need for Jesus the Savior, with our homosexual brothers and sisters. We must remain CONVICTED, however, in the Truth of homosexualities depravity. But we must remain equally CONVICTED of God's Love for them (and for us in our own sin), through God's Omnipotent Mercy.

Repentance and conversion must be exemplified and offered, not imposed with hatred.

4) Our 1st Amendment Rights.

The last I heard, we still live in America--the 'land of the free, and the home of the brave.' So, if we are free, and brave, we must continue to 'fight the good fight' of sharing the Truth. Anyone intimidated to silence by the PC police isn't worthy of freedom.

Christ spoke the Truth all the Way to the Cross. Will we?
