There's a lot to like this week especially if you're a sneaky stealth aficionado, a tactical genius looking to shoot aliens, and a visitor of Steelport where the word gonzo doesn't begin to describe the happenings surrounding the latest escapades of The Saints.
As a sneaky, stealth aficionado myself, I remember getting excited for the reveal of the original Splinter Cell. I hardly can't believe it's been so long. Playing that game at the time was one of my greatest video game memories because it put me in the shoes of a spy, chock full of gadgets including sticky cams and sticky shockers. The lighting was so amazing at the time that a shadow from a chain link fence floored me, but the gameplay was where the fun was and using the environment to outsmart enemies made me feel like a predator.
With the newest Splinter Cell, Blacklist, it looks to bring back the old school Sam Fisher from Chaos Theory, but also cater to the folks who enjoyed Conviction. I definitely enjoyed both, so having the best of those two worlds (minus Michael Ironside), will hopefully make Blacklist a totally sublime experience.
Also to look out for this week is Saints Row IV, another crazy and over the top sequel to Saints Row The Third. Aliens have taken over Steelport and as the president of the United States it's up to the Saints to obliterate this threat, complete with dub-step gun. The Bureau: XCOM Declassified shows the origins of the XCOM program in a third person strategic shooter. You'll need to use tactics to survive. With the lingering threat of permadeath, you'll need to lead your team to victory carefully and efficiently.
