There are two genres in video games that I'm either not very good - actually, horrible - at playing, or just don't really play at all, except for a few mega spurts here and there. The former are fighting games. I just can't pull off those combos anymore. The latter are racing games. Although I can't seem to sustain playing them for long stretches of time, they're still a blast to play in doses. I can attest to that with Burnout: Paradise and the original GRID, which consequently, will be having its sequel arrive this week.
From what I remember, GRID had really tight controls and always gave the player a carrot to dangle right in front of them. There were always challenges to accomplish. And with each road block conquered, there was a reward. It had that "just one more race" mentality that made gameplay addictive.
GRID 2 this time around brings better controls (TrueFeel™ Handling system), races across three continents, a separate online campaign, iconic cars from the last 40 years and more. Time for another dose of racing goodness.
Here are this week's PC game releases according to Gamefaqs:
Crusader Kings II: The Old Gods
Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded
