So Sniper Elite V2 was a pretty fun third person shooter. The x-ray cam alone made each potential shot a very rewarding aspect of the game. It made you feel like a badass, especially when you saw the streaking bullet crack craniums, break femurs, deflate lungs, and even make testicles explode. Actually, I think they just disintegrated into a red shower of black hole nothingness. But anyway, if there was a list of coolest way to off an enemy soldier, testicle explosion has to be on the top, or least near the top of my list.
While the action was enjoyable, I expected a bit more stealth and preparation, like the original Sniper Elite. I mean, it was cool when my shots were masked by explosions, but once one single shot was heard, the enemies knew exactly where I was, and I had to shoot groups of them until all their lifeless bodies filled the streets. Although there were certain levels containing this inevitability, I just hoped that I would be able to complete any mission in a stealth-like manner.
Okay, so that's all in the past and this new zombie themed standalone Sniper Elite game, titled Nazi Zombie Army, probably won't have much stealth involved, so in that regard, it's definitely going to play on Sniper Elite V2's strengths of quick target acquisition followed by gruesome kill shots. It will also include a 4-player co-op campaign, and new enemies such as roof-jumping snipers. It looks to be an intense campaign as the pressure is felt from an on-coming zombie onslaught. You'll need to coordinate, set up traps and make stands to survive.
