You know with the delay of Watch_Dogs by Ubisoft last week, it opens up my wallet to other gaming possibilities that was I was going to initially pass on. Basically I have an extra sixty dollars to spend and with the holidays pretty much in full swing, there are more choices on the horizon.
One of those games, out this Friday, is Batman: Arkham Origins. The first chapter in the Arkham series, it tells the story of an inexperienced Batman as Black Mask offers a bounty on the caped crusader. That bounty reels in the villians to see if they can't get that cash reward. It's an interesting take that seems to delve into what makes Batman, Batman. Along with new gadgets and moves, Origins looks to improve upon City as a new developer takes the helm.
Also out this week is the Director's Cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Included in the package are the DLCs, "The Missing Link" and "Tongs Mission" along with new and improved boss fights, which should be interesting.
Finally, even though there are way more titles on release this week, I'm actually excited for How to Survive. Yes, yes, I know another zombie game in a bloody ocean of zombie games, but it's always fun for me to see how other developers manage to create an apocalyptic world. It's a survival game where you need to find food, water and shelter. You can also craft weapons and tools to defend yourself. And while there is story co-op (online co-op are only challenges), which should be a blast, it's local only. Definitely looking forward to see how this game shapes up as I continue my run through of another zombie game, State of Decay.
