PBS 'Mr. Selfridge' Lady Mae Loxley physically abused by husband

Mr. Selfridge” (PBS) can be seen each Sunday evening at 9/8 p.m. Last night's episode on April 6, 2014 was called “2.2” which means Season two, Episode two. This highly rated period drama has been picked up by PBS for a third TV season.

Mr. Selfridge” has an 18 character ensemble cast. Here are five & they include, Ron Cook (Mr. Crabb), Frances O'Connor (Rose Selfridge), Katherine Kelly (Lady Mae), Jeremy Piven (Harry Selfridge) & Amanda Abbington (Miss Mardle).

2.2” opens with the streets of London filled with employees of companies urging others to join unions. “Selfridge” employees are worried about their jobs as rumors circulate that Harry Selfridge is moving back to America. He quashes the idea because he takes care of all his employees. Rose Selfridge goes to see Delphine Day & asks to consider her as a partner in Day's nightclub aptly titled “Delphine's.”

Harry has an account for all his young lady friends with whom he sees on the side. He tells his secretary to cancel all of those accounts. Rose knows about these side lovers, but plays her role of devoted wife in public. She also gets the address of Henri Leclair who used to work for “Selfridges” two years ago. She thought she saw him at “Delphine's” the other night. It was not the artist.

Rose tells Harry that she is thinking of investing in Delphine's nightclub. She asks him if “Selfridges” would hold its' staff party at “Delphine's.” Rose then goes to the poor section of London to seek out LeClair who has fallen on hard times after excepting a job in New York. He is back in London, but he tells Rose that he doesn't want to see Harry.

Lord Loxley is an abusive man toward Lady Mae Loxley. He pushes people around because he has a lot of money. He threatens to take his money away from her too if he doesn't get what he wants. He tries to force Lady Mae to ask Harry Selfridge if he would open several departments in his store to hold supplies if there happens to be a world war.

Harry goes to see Delphine Day & talks to her about Rose. He is worried about involving his store with the nightclub. Plus, he thinks Rose might jump into a partnership with Delphine if the nightclub goes under.
