For most people, turning 19 is a very special time. It is our last year of being teenagers and turning that big 2-0. Naturally it is a big year to celebrate. The Palm Beach International Film Festival will be doing the same as they will be celebrating their 19th year beginning on Thursday, April 3 through April 10. PBIFF has many plans for the upcoming festival beginning with the opening night film, "Belle" at the Cinemark Palace 20 in Boca Raton. Guests will not have to travel far for the opening night party either as it will be held right upstairs to the Premier Level Bogart's Bar & Grill.
This year the Palm Beach International Film Festival will feature 14 World Premieres, 8 North American Premieres and 8 U.S. Premiere feature films from around the world. You can click HERE to see the full list of films. Some noteworthy films include "3 Mile Limit" from New Zealand which will be having its World Premiere at PBIFF; "500 Miles" from Australia which is having its U.S. Premiere; "Confessions of a Womanizer" starring Gary Busey and C. Thomas Howell.; and, "Dom Hemingway" starring Jude Law. If you are an animal rights person you must see the documentary, "Lion Ark," which is described more as an action adventure film than a documentary. The short film program will once again return to Lake Worth and the closing night film is "Cas & Dylan" by director Jason Priestley, who will in attendance as well.
PBIFF has always been more than just great films. There are plenty of great events, parties and seminars to attend during the week-long festival. Besides the opening and closing night parties, there's almost always something to go to each night. On Friday night, April 4 at the Cobb Downtown @ The Gardens there will be a special screening of "The Great Chicken Wing Hunt" followed by a party that will serve what the film said is the "best: chicken wings to be had.” On Saturday night will be the Toast of the Town event that will have a Tribute to Classic Hollywood. This will take place at the EAU Palm Beach Resort & Spa. Earlier that day, a pair of seminars will be given at the Hyatt Place in Delray Beach. Other notable events include The Jewish Experience, Spotlight on Canada and many more. Click HERE to see a full list of events happening at the Palm Beach International Film Festival.
