As the PBA Philippine Cup Finals head to Game Five this Sunday, several PBA players found themselves with new teams this past week.
The most significant of which was the blockbuster five-man trade involving Barako Bull, Barangay Ginebra, and B-MEG, which was approved by PBA commisioner Chito Salud on Friday.
The deal landed crowd-favorite Ginebra forward Kerby Raymundo from B-Meg and impressive rookie Dylan Ababou from Barako Bull. B-MEG in return received forward JC Intal from Ginebra and a 2012 2nd round pick from Barako Bull that originally belonged to Air 21, formerly Shopinas.com. Barako Bull acquired the services of defensive stoppoer Ronald Tubid, rookie Reil Cervantes and a second round draft pick in 2012 from Ginebra.
Meanwhile, the Meralco Bolts and Barako Bull traded point guards in Paul Artadi and Chico Lanete. Artadi reunites with coach Ryan Gregorio, while Lanete gets an opportunity to battle for the starting role under coach Junnel Baculi.
Artadi isn't going to be the only new face in a Meralco jersey next conference. The Bolts traded Nelbert Omolon and Mark Isip to Air 21 in exchange for Mark Canlas, Dennis Daa, and a 2012 first round draft pick that originally belonged to them.
More to come.
