If you have a hankering to understand how the PB process works from the ground up, there may be no better way to do this than volunteering your time and smarts as a 2013-14 PB Vallejo Steering Committee member.
You will be joining twenty other folks from the Vallejo community, fourteen of them who represent local civic organizations. If you are not currently part of a civic group or committee, no worries since, at a maximum, the Vallejo City Council will appoint seven 'at-large' members. All members serve for 2 cycles of Vallejo’s PB process (approximately 2 years).
Your Committee responsibilities include overseeing the PB process (eg creating rules, planning public meetings and coordinating community outreach). The over-arching goal, listed at the PB-Vallejo website, is "to ensure that PB Vallejo is transparent, fair, and inclusive."
The Vallejo City Council is tentatively scheduled to make appointments at its regularly scheduled meeting on October 8, 2013.
The application deadline is Wednesday, September 25, 2013. For offline admission information, contact Joanna Altman, Administrative Analyst II (City Manager’s office), at firstname.lastname@example.org or (707) 648-4362.
