Pay It Forward benefits Walnut Creek schools

The Walnut Creek Education Foundation will present Pay It Forward, its annual fund-raising concert, May 17 at the Las Lomas Theatre.

There are few opportunities to see jazz and rock ‘n’ roll legends mentor and play alongside a group of talented students. On May 17, a night of musical magic will provide the perfect opportunity.
Jamie Davis (former vocalist for the Count Basie Orchestra), Carlos Reyes (electrical harpist and violinist), and Greg Errico (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and founding drummer for Sly and the Family Stone) will play a one-night-only concert. They will share the stage with Leon Joyce (former drummer for Ramsey Lewis), Glen Pearson, John Shifflett and Roger Glenn. There will be appearances by the Walnut Creek Intermediate Jazz Band, the Las Lomas Jazz Band and the Las Lomas Chorale.
