The winners for the annual 2011 Best App Ever Awards were announced today (Friday) and DJ Pauly D's game narrowly missed the title! The Jersey Shore star's mobile app 'Beat That Boardwalk' took home second place in the 'Best Music Game' for Android category.
A fan vote determined the winners crowning 'Tap Tap Revenge 4' the 'Best Music Game' of 2011 over Pauly D's 'Beat That Boardwalk.'
'Beat That Boardwalk' was developed by MEDL Mobile and was released in November 2011. The game was an instant hit with fans and critics. It was even named #2 in the Top 10 new Android apps.
The 8-bit throwback game features a miniature, fist-pumping DJ who must traverse the Jersey Shore boardwalk in search of drinks, dates, clean laundry, workouts and the perfect tan -- all while dodging opponents like muscle heads and "grenades."
'Beat That Boardwalk' was released under a multi-app deal with MEDL which means Pauly D will be coming out with even more 'Best Ever Apps'-worthy games!
Jersey Shore Season 5 airs Thursdays on MTV at 10pm ET/PT.
