Paula, 26, had been visiting the area with her boyfriend, Kevin Klym, 34. The two had been out on the town the night prior to her disappearance and reportedly got into a fight inside Club Space. Klym was kicked out of the club and said he returned to the hotel where the couple was staying, while Paula remained inside the club.
Klym disputes the story that an altercation occurred and has publicly said he and Paula never argued at the club.
Nonetheless, Paula left the next morning at 7:21 a.m. hand-in-hand with an African American male—their departure captured on Club Space’s surveillance footage.
Initially, suspicions swirled around Klym and police named him as a person of interest in the case. However, Klym as a suspect was virtually ruled out after police released a composite sketch of the man they believe killed Paula.
Klym has stated he believes the police sketch looks like a Club Space employee, which the establishment roundly disputes.

A reward is being offered for anyone with information that may lead to the arrest and conviction of Paula's killer.
The North Miami Police Department is urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
