Ex-"American Idol" judge Paula Abdul managed to steer clear of a "Star Search" reboot for ABC, but now she's getting offered a spot on a series that sounds equally strange. According to new information courtesy of Michael Ausiello from Entertainment Weekly, the former pop star is now getting offered a new role with NBC as a choreographer for flash mobs (otherwise known as large crowds who get together in a quick period of time). She would paired with choreographer extraordinarie Kenny Ortega, otherwise known as the guru behind "High School Musical" and the director of Michael Jackson's "This Is It."
The show is being produced by the same company as "The Biggest Loser" -- which has gone on to be the network's top-rated show -- so maybe the overall idea of the series isn't quite as ridiculous as it seems. Flash mob dances appear popular on Youtube, but it's hard to see the premise of this show staying fresh for any period of time longer than thirty minutes.
What do you think: is Paula Abdul seriously considering doing this new show, or is this all smoke and mirrors just so she can navigate her way into "X Factor" with Simon Cowell for a hefty paycheck? Let me know your thoughts with a comment below and stay tuned for more of the latest TV news.
