When a celebrity dies the whole world chimes in with their reaction, Twitter trending the hashtag PaulWalker, and bursting with comments on the passing of the actor. We see their images on the big screen and we feel like we know them, often lacking to factor in that they can have normal, everyday lives outside of the spotlight, family and friends.
Wu-Tag Clan's, RZA, who met Paul Walker on the set of the upcoming film, "Brick Mansions," has written a touching ballad called "Destiny Blends," for the late actor and friend. The two connected over their strong sense of family and roles of being fathers. Walker tragically died in a fiery car crash on Saturday afternoon, leaving behind a daughter.
Along with the demo, RZA added these sentiments on his Soundcloud page:
"This song, entitled "Destiny Bends" was written last night after hearing the tragic news of the loss of a good man named Paul Walker. I met Paul on the set of the film "Brick Mansion," where we talked, laughed, and exchanged ideas of life and fatherhood. I only knew him personally for less than a year, but we knew each other through our work and art. We saw in each other a kindred spirit of men coming from unlikely circumstances, and rising to be the light and beacon of our family and loved ones." Read on and listen to the demo here.
"Destiny Blends," featuring Will Wells, mentions Paul Walker as "Paul, my friend," a pure expression on his passing, "On that highway where heaven begins / I lost a friend where destiny bends."
