It was reported earlier this month by Yahoo movie news, that the late actor Paul Walker’s siblings will be joining the “Fast and Furious” family. The two guys will be helping complete the remaining scenes of the movie.
"Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production," the statement about the production said. "Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too."
According to ET Online, first photos of the two brothers were spotted on set today with their late brother’s co-star and friend Vin Diesel. The Instagram caption of the photo read: "The resemblance is big! Vin Diesel having a chat with Cody and Caleb Walker on the set in Dubai. #fastfever #fastandfurious7 #ff7 #fast7 #fast7official #fastandfurious #vindiesel #paulwalker #codywalker #calebwalker #dubai."
Multiple reports say that the late actor had already shot most of the action shots of the movie and dramatic scenes for the upcoming highly anticipated sequel which had been pushed back a year due to his death on November 30th of last year, when the actor’s Porsche had lost control and hit a light post and a tree. Walker’s friend Roger Rodas also died in the crash.
The production on the seventh installment of the hit franchise was put on hold for several months after the accident which made fans wondered how are the franchise will continue without the Walker’s character Brian O’Conner. Some wondered if they were going to kill off the character, which would have been in bad taste for the studio and production. Production resumed this month for the sequel and a statement was released about how they’ll portray the character in the movie.
"We are just under a year away from the release of “FAST & FURIOUS 7,” and this film is the most important we've ever done together. It will allow the character of Brian O'Conner to live on and let us celebrate Paul in his most defining role," the statement said.
What exactly Caleb and Cody Walker are doing in this film? They will be acting as stand-ins and body doubles, CBS News reported. Paul Walker portrayed former FBI agent character Brian O'Conner in five out of six previous “Fast” films within the franchise. Producers have said that his character will be "retired" after the seventh film.
Are you excited for the anticipated sequel? Was it the right choice to cast Paul Walker’s brothers? This will more than likely be a bittersweet farewell to the beloved character that helped launch “Fast and the Furious” franchise. “Fast & Furious 7” will hit theaters April 10, 2015.
