Paul Walker retired: 'Fast & Furious' will retire Paul Walker not kill him off

Paul Walker will be retired from the "Fast and Furious" franchise rather than killed off according to movie execs. On Jan. 3, Huffington Post reported that director James Wan will use existing footage of Walker and add in some scenes that will effectively "retire" Brian O'Conner from the team of street racers that he's been a part of for years.

Details about how movie execs plan on retiring Walker are unknown. However, fans were wondering whether or not Walker's character would die in the seventh installment of the film but that's not how he will go out -- so it will be interesting to see how the story goes.

Having Paul Walker retired on the show is going to be weird since he was the main character. It's won't be easy for fans to watch the film knowing that Walker's life tragically ended in a car accident in 2013 but thousands will flock to theaters to see just how Walker will be written out -- leave it to the professionals to do something seamless.

Perhaps Walker will leave the group on his own merit or maybe he will end up getting banned, who knows? What's clear is that movie execs feel as though they have enough footage to retire Walker's character and maybe it will work out without fans having to come to terms with an on-screen death.

Paul Walker's retired character may or may not have a large role in "Fast and Furious 7" but fans are hoping to see Walker's last scenes and cherish his role as Brian O'Conner one last time.
