Paul Walker death certificate released; reveals actual cause of actor’s demise

Paul Walker’s death certificate has been released and reveals the actor did not die instantly in the Santa Clarita, Calif. crash that took place several weeks ago, according to a Dec. 16, 2013 TMZ report.

The website obtained the document and notes it is “significant” because it indicates the actor was not “killed from the impact alone. He also burned to death after the crash.”

The actor's death certificate states he died from both "traumatic and thermal injuries."

The website indicates the man driving the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT when it crashed, Roger Rodas, 38, died from “traumatic injuries,” according to his death certificate, but burns were not listed as contributing to his demise.

Nevertheless, according to TMZ, both Walker, 40, and Rodas died very quickly after the vehicle hit a pole and burst into flames.

The accident took place following a charity event held by Walker’s organization Reach Out Worldwide. Witnesses note the actor and Rodas were taking the Porsche out for a quick ride around the block to figure out why it kept stalling when the fateful incident occurred.

TMZ reports the cause of the accident is still being investigated, however, “plastic bumps in the road” may have resulted in Rodas losing control of the car.
