Paul Walker began dating his girlfriend, Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell, when she was just 16-years-old. On Dec. 3, The Frisky reported that Paul Walker's girlfriend, now 23, has become the center of some controversy. Walker has been gone for 48 hours and with the public's focus bouncing all over the place -- some people have started passing judgement on his seven-year relationship with Pilchard-Gosnell.
"I’m kind of baffled that more of an issue wasn’t made when these two began dating. Very little is known about the two of them, including how they met. I have to wonder if Walker’s career was hindered by either his or his people’s desire to keep his private life quiet," wrote Amelia McDonell-Parry from TheFrisky.com.
Paul Walker's girlfriend has been an interesting story line since his passing. No one knows much about Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell but once some people realized that Walker began dating her while she was still in high school, discussions flared up all over the Internet. "...to start dating a high schooler when you are very much a grown-ass man? I don’t care how pretty your face is, that is shady," says McDonell-Parry.
It's hard to say that Paul Walker was "wrong" when people don't really know the truth -- no one knows how he met Pilchard-Gosnell or how their relationship progressed. And now that he's gone, is it appropriate for people to be so critical?
Paul Walker and his girlfriend were very close. It has been reported that Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell has been helping Paul's daughter, Meadow, cope with the death of her dad. Evidently the two are also very close.
What do you think of the debates surrounding this story? Let Paul rest in peace or hold this against him forever?
