Paul’s Donuts, is a St. Charles local spot as cozy as one’s own kitchen, for breakfast. As you walk through the door, with a bell jingling behind, the aroma of freshly baked cakes immerses the shop and the old school coffee pots are kept piping hot on top of burners.
The staff is young and adorned in navy blue aprons wearing friendly smiles as they greet each and every customer. The crisp clean counters hold the coffee cups or retired men flipping through the newspaper. Behind a large glass counter are long trays of all types of donuts imaginable; with sprinkles and a full spectrum of icing flavors.
Their donuts, cake and yeast made, come in so many delicious, assorted flavors and fillings you’ll wish you had a larger stomach. Each tray labeled with its own mini name tag so you know exactly what you’re getting. The sprinkles and donuts shapes coordinate with the holidays and seasons just as commonly found in a more monopolized company while still exerting that “homemade like grandma's” feel.
The interior of the shop is small, but quite quaint for breakfast, and perfect for a morning date or informal meeting with an acquaintance. Opting to dine in, with donuts handed out on an old school lunch tray, you may choose a beverage of coffee, juice, milk, or water. With the coffee being ready as self-serve, never risk any wait.
Of their two locations, St. Charles and St. Peters, the St. Peters location offers outdoor seating for those rare perfect mornings we get in Missouri, they also offer ice cream.
