Paul Rudd is backing making news -- and laughs -- in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
Now, the actor is doing the former once more, as talks and rumors are circulating that he has signed on as Marvel's Ant-Man, the start of "Phase Three" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As you may or may not know, Ant-Man is the alter-ego of scientist Henry "Hank" Pym, one of the founding members of "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" known as The Avengers, which includes Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye. A pacifist at heart, Pym is actually the creator of Ultron as an alternative way to stop the ongoing cycle of violence, but the robot turned against Pym and went on to create the Vision, who later sided with the Avengers.
Marvel's Ant-Man is scheduled for release on July 31, 2015, two months after the conclusion of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is set to come out on May 1, 2015.
