According to Comic Book Movie on Dec. 11, there was a brief encounter with Paul Rudd on the red carpet debut of "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues". When Rudd was asked about the role of Edgar Wright's "Ant-Man", all the actor had to say was:
"Oh, that's all rumors man. There's nothing I know, sorry".
Previous history did dictate the possibility that Rudd and Joesph Gordon-Levitt were the main actors up for the role back in October. At the time, Rudd was considered the lead prospect for the role, but considering the actor's blatant and brief response, it makes things rather questionable to the point that he may even had turned down the role. Rumor has it that Rudd wanted more money as compensation or that he's still unable to disclose any information at all as he has of yet to officially sign up for the project.
Also, fans were hopeful in thinking that Simon Pegg would be taking on such a role, but he quickly debunked it and even gave a descriptive reason as to why he would not join Wright on the "Ant-Man" project.
"Ant-Man" is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 31, 2015.
