According to Variety on Oct. 14, it has now been announced that the front-runners for Marvel's upcoming "Ant-Man" film are currently down to two contenders. These actors are the well known Paul Rudd and Joseph Gordon-Levitt who are now currently in the running to play the main role in the film.
Edgar Wright, who had worked on films such as "Shaun of the Dead" and the recent "The World's End", wants a more normal looking actor for the heroic role as opposed to the beefy Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth. The release date for "Ant-Man" had been moved up to July 31, 2015 and Wright even posted a pre-production still of the character from behind. Wright also thought that one of these actors would be a shoe-in for the wise cracking personality that Ant-Man is known for in the Marvel comics.
At this point, it is known that the celebrities will be meeting one more time with Marvel executives before the decision is made and it is also likely one more actor could be in the running, too.
