It looks like Pierce will end up remaining in Boston, especially if the team isn't willing to trade Kevin Garnett. What the report stated was that the Celtics' front office was looking for at least two first-round picks in any deal and that they were also showing interest in forward Mirza Teletovic.

It appears that the problem for Brooklyn is that the team has run out of real assets to offer up in trades. The team wants to keep the core players together and add another star player, but it just doesn't seem to be in the cards after trading for Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, and Deron Williams in separate deals.
Though these Paul Pierce trade rumors seem to indicate that he will stay in Boston, it is becoming even clearer that the Boston Celtics are definitely shopping all three star layers. If general manager Danny Ainge could find the right deal, it really looks like Pierce, Kevin Garnett, or Rajon Rondo could be heading to a new destination. This is why fans should not be surprised if the Celtics do pull off a deal before the NBA trade deadline.
