Paul McCartney wakes up NASA astronauts with Beatles song (video)

Paul McCartney greeted the 12-person crew of the Atlantis and the International Space Station with a special wake-up call Friday featuring a song from his Beatles days.

The special call on Flight Day 8 featured a short version of "Good Day Sunshine" and a special spoken message from Paul, saying, "Good morning, guys, and wake up. Good luck on this, your last mission. Well done!"

The astronauts responded, saying people all around the world love McCartney's music and they appreciated him taking time out of his busy schedule.

This isn't the first time he's done this. He did a similar wake-up call to the International Space Station in November, 2005. Footage of it was featured on his DVD, "The Space Within Us." NASA says Beatles songs have been used as wake-ups several times in the past for previous space shuttle crews.
