Paul McCartney will be honored as MusiCares Person of the Year and be the focus of a special sold out Grammy Week tribute Feb. 10 to benefit the organization, which administers emergency financial assitance and addiction recovery programs to those in the music industry.
The event will be "celebrating his exceptional artistic achievements as well as his philanthropic work," according to MusiCares.
Proceeds from the Person of the Year tribute, in its 22nd year, will provide essential support for MusiCares. The organization "ensures that music people have a place to turn in times of financial, medical and personal need."
The event will include a cocktail reception, silent auction and tribute concert. Names of the additional performers for the event haven't been announced.
The Grammy Week events conclude with the 54th Annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 12 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The telecast will be broadcast on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The broadcast is live to the East Coast and taped delayed to the West Coast.
