Paul McCartney sends video birthday card to Beatle Ringo (video)

Paul McCartney didn't join fellow Beatle Ringo Starr in Germany Thursday when the Beatles drummer celebrated his birthday by saying "peace and love" to a crowd of German admirers. He did, however, make up a video (see left) especially for Ringo's birthday.

In 2010, Paul McCartney made a surprise appearance at Radio City Music Hall on Ringo's birthday to perform the Beatles song "Birthday" for him with the members of Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band.

This year, McCartney and his band -- Rusty Anderson, Brian Ray, Paul "Wix" Wickens and Abe Laboriel Jr. --- dressed casually and rehearsing in England for the upcoming On the Run tour, performed a raucous version of "Birthday" themselves as a birthday present for him.

McCartney ends the brief performance with a birthday wish for Ringo, "Happy birthday, dear Richard."
