February 7, 2012 – 48 years ago today, the Beatles landed in America for the first time to thousands of fans. Today, Paul’s 15th solo album, Kisses on the Bottom, is released. The album contains fourteen songs, comprised of twelve "standards" and two original compositions. Last week, prior to release, the album could be heard for free on-line. (Read here for more background on the album)
The Deluxe CD features some extra goodies. There are two bonus tracks—Baby’s Request and My One And Only Love—BUT we’ve just learned that Target is the only store where you can buy the deluxe version with the two extra tracks. (Thanks to Kit O'Toole for pointing that out.)
But that is the only difference. Both deluxe versions have a card that gives you free access to an exclusive live show on iTunes February 9, at 7pm PST. (see below)
The liner notes on the deluxe version include a nice fold-out package with longer liner notes; it also includes 3 “postcards” --- they are actually very nice glossy hard-stock photos, around 4 ½ by 5 ½ inches, of Paul with headphones, Paul making a “heart” sign, and one you’ve seen before, of Paul holding a huge bouquet of flowers.
iTunes Live from Capitol Studios: Paul McCartney - Paul will commemorate the release of the new album with a free streaming performance. It takes place live at 7:00 p.m. PST Thursday 9th February, from Capitol Studios where much of the new album was recorded. Fans can watch the concert through iTunes on their Mac or PC. A free access card for this show comes with the deluxe version.
'My Valentine' offered for free with flower order - Click here – A $75 flower order gets you a free download of Paul’s latest composition, My Valentine.
