April 1 - Paul McCartney is proof of the theory that when you do what you love, it keeps you young. Paul McCartney first played the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles in 1964 when he was only 22 years old. Now 46 years later, Macca returned to the Bowl for two powerhouse concerts on March 30 and 31 as if time almost had stood still.

The 67-year-old (turning 68 in June) played both nights for 2 hours and 45 minutes non-stop, including two encores. It was obvious from the smiles and physical energy he displayed on stage that the man loves what he does. He jumped around during certain songs almost as if he was a teenager.

McCartney shared with the crowd how he remembered playing the Bowl with The Beatles and how there used to be a pond in front of the stage, which was filled in years later allowing fans to stand much closer to the stage. He said The Beatles couldn't hear much of what they were playing since all the girls were screaming during the entire concert.

For those fans who attended the shows on both nights, Paul offered a surprise of playing four different songs on the second night. Fans on the first night heard "Got To Get You Into My Life", "I Want to Come Home", "I'm Looking Through You", and "Two Of Us", while fans on the second night heard "Drive My Car", "Let 'Em In", "I've Just Seen a Face" and "And I Love Her" instead. (See setlist below)

While frequent Macca concertgoers may have expected the usual fire explosions during "Live and Let Die," fans were surprised to also see a huge fireworks display during the song appearing in the sky right above the stage -- an exhilarating spectacle only to be seen at the Hollywood Bowl! (See slideshow below)

Paul played a range of songs from his 5-decade career including songs by The Beatles, Wings, The Fireman and his most recent solo album. He paid tribute to his former bandmates, John Lennon and George Harrison. He played Harrison's "Something" on a ukulele that George had given him. For Lennon, he played the song he wrote for John after he was killed called "Here Today" and then later in the show he played "A Day in the Life" followed by "Give Peace A Chance."

Paul is playing five dates in the US, five dates in the UK and one show in Mexico City on his 2010 "Up and Coming" tour. As reported in the Official Tour Program, when asked why he chose "Up and Coming" to describe his tour , McCartney responded: "I figure I'm an up and coming artist, and I have been coming up for years!"
